Role Summary The Senior Human Resources Generalist brings broad HR knowledge to handle employee relations issues, manage the FMLA and PLOA program, provide managers and employees with assistance on benefits, legal compliance, and other human resources matters. The role partners with the Human Resources Director to anticipate and meet the needs of B & I Contractors Inc. while delivering best practices.
Essential Duties
Provide timely assistance to team members regarding human resource questions and issues.
Work closely with managers and employees regarding employee and employment matters.
Ensure overall HR legal compliance by maintaining employee files, filing EEO‑1 and VETS‑4212 reports, and supporting third‑party vendor affirmative action plan filings.
Conduct onboarding for new hires.
Assist with creation of training manuals, HR manuals, and employee handbooks.
Assist with audits of benefits, human resources, and other programs as needed.
Assist with preparing correspondence.
Assist with additional projects as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Director.
Minimum Requirements
Bilingual English/Spanish required (written and verbal).
Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred.
8–10 years of human resources experience and practical employment law knowledge.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and HRIS systems.
Willingness to travel (day and/or overnight) as needed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
