Pay Range Base pay range: $140,000 - $175,000 per year.

Additional compensation: Annual Bonus.

Location New York, NY HQ - Midtown Manhattan.

Position Human Resources Generalist.

Overview Our client, a prestigious, "mid-sized" financial services firm based in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a wide range of HR functions while partnering closely with internal teams and employees across the organization. This role requires strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Core Responsibilities

Support day-to-day HR operations across both corporate and domestic employee groups.

Maintain accurate employee records, documents, and data to ensure organization and compliance.

Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies, procedures, and employee programs.

Coordinate recruiting efforts, including drafting job descriptions, communicating with external recruiting partners, screening resumes, participating in interviews, and preparing offer documentation.

Manage onboarding processes such as background checks, I-9 verification, new-hire setup, initial training, and orientation communications.

Serve as the point of contact for employee questions, employee relations matters, and general HR guidance.

Handle offboarding procedures, separation communications, and the preparation of exit materials.

Coordinate immigration-related matters in partnership with external legal counsel, when required. Complete employment verifications, unemployment responses, and other administrative requests.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international employment regulations, including wage and hour, safety, anti-discrimination, and workers’ compensation requirements.

Support the creation and maintenance of employee handbooks and policy documents.

Conduct compensation benchmarking, prepare compensation summaries, and assist with pay planning.

Oversee payroll review and approval for multiple employee groups to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

Administer benefits, including enrollment, portal management, and employee inquiries.

Perform ad hoc reporting, audits, and administrative projects as needed.

Experience Desired

Bachelor’s degree required (HR or related field preferred).

7‑10+ years of broad HR experience with exposure to multiple functional areas.

Background in financial services, hospitality, or family office environments is a strong plus.

Strong understanding of compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.

Familiarity with employment law and compliance requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism. Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and organizational skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.

Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence at various levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
