The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers, matching their needs with First United Bank products and services while mentoring employees to do the same. Essential Duties:
Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and relevant regulatory issues.
Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities.
Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
Serve as customers' single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services.
Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and participate in all sales campaigns.
Participate in meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested.
Meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, and building rapport.
Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs.
Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products, ensuring proper paperwork is completed.
Assist customers with routine questions and requests, including balance inquiries, statements, deposits, and more.
Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors according to established policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and conduct vault duties.
Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and prove cash drawer upon completion of shift.
Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, and other issues.
Review and resolve account issues listed in daily reports, assisting customers with charge‑off repayment plans.
Perform security functions by opening and closing the bank and vault and ensuring overall safety and security.
Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.
Employee Specifications:
High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred.
One year of retail experience preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Superior customer service skills required.
Basic mathematics to solve problems.
Requires exactness or high accuracy with daily work.
Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co‑workers.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
Ability to use good judgment and exercise decision‑making skills.
Critical thinking required to identify solutions, conclusions, or approaches.
Ability to multi‑task.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Behave ethically both at work and outside of work.
Active listening: giving full attention to what others say and asking appropriate questions.
