DUST is an award-winning architecture studio that designs contemporary buildings rooted in the histories and heritages of place. Our work has received multiple Jeff Harnar Awards for Contemporary Design in the Southwest, has been featured in local, national, and international publications, and was recently included in the U.S. Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Biennale.

We design projects ranging from single-family residences to public pavilions, civic spaces, community centers, and tailored, site-specific hospitality projects. DUST is small by design. As a studio, we think together, work together, and make together. We are seeking a Project Designer with 1–5 years of professional experience for a full-time, in-studio position in Tucson, Arizona.

About the Role The Project Designer will work closely with the Principals and team on all phases of design and documentation. The position requires curiosity, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Contribute to all phases of design, from concept through delivery

Produce clear drawings, diagrams, models, and presentation materials

Assist in technical detailing and preparation of construction documentation

Coordinate with consultants and fabricators

Support project schedules and documentation standards

Qualifications

Interest in DUST’s design ethos and hands-on approach to architecture

Strong design sensibility and technical understanding

Professional degree in Architecture (Master’s not required)

1-5 years of professional experience in an architecture practice

Proficiency with CAD, Rhino, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
