Overview
The QA/QC Editor provides final editorial quality assurance for document and web-based deliverables prior to client submission. This role ensures that all materials meet established quality, clarity, accuracy, formatting, and approved style-guide standards before release. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced editor with exceptional attention to detail, strong editorial judgment, and a proven track record of conducting final reviews in structured, deadline-driven environments.
Duties
Perform final editorial review of document and digital deliverables prior to submission to ensure completeness, accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to the approved style guide
Ensure deliverables comply with established quality standards, editorial guidelines, formatting requirements, and style-guide conventions
Review materials for content accuracy, clarity, relevance, tone, grammar, spelling, organization, and overall readability in accordance with approved editorial standards
Validate consistency across documents, including terminology, headings, formatting, references, and style-guide application
Provide quality assurance for written and electronic content, including documents, reports, websites, and other stakeholder-facing materials
Identify and remediate editorial issues that could result in client feedback, rework, or quality risk
Ensure content adheres to plain language principles, transforming complex or technical information into clear, concise, and reader-friendly text appropriate for the intended audience
Collaborate with writers, instructional designers, document specialists, and project leadership to resolve editorial issues efficiently
Verify that corrections and updates are implemented accurately and consistently during re-review cycles
Maintain awareness of updates to style guides, templates, and editorial standards and apply changes consistently across deliverables
Proactively communicate risks or concerns related to quality, style compliance, or submission readiness
Perform other duties as assigned in support of project and business needs
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field
At least 7 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of and experience applying Federal plain language guidelines
Experience using variety of editing and compliance software
Strong oral and written communications skills
Proven ability to adopt and apply client-specific style guides while editing content
Salary Range:
$70,000 to $90,000 per year
