Joining this highly regarded global insurer in New York as an Ocean Marine Cargo Underwriter you’ll be offered a book of business in the $3 million - $5 million range and be part of a well-established underwriting team with experienced colleagues. There is planned succession planning in the pipeline, providing potential for development and increased responsibility over time, with corresponding pay progression.
You will predominantly focus on marine cargo and stock throughput business, with optional opportunities to engage in other areas as the ocean and inland marine teams collaborate.
Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days at home and 2 in the office.
Responsibilities • Meet annual company goals for profitability, renewal retention, revenue growth, new business production and customer service standards. Evaluate risk acceptability within established guidelines and set appropriate rates and factor levels.
• Take on increasing responsibility and authority over time, with pay rises aligned to progression.
• Collaborate with ocean and inland marine teams; participate in the underwriting process for marine cargo and related lines where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
Ocean Marine / Marine Cargo Underwriter experience (focus on marine cargo and stock throughput).
Ability to operate in a global insurer environment with potential leadership development.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary up to $150k.
Generous 401k, dental and health cover.
15% target bonus, with potential to earn more based on personal performance.
