Joining a top insurer in New York as an Ocean Marine Cargo Underwriter, you will be offered a book of business in the $3 million – $5 million range and will be part of a well‑established underwriting team with extensive experience.
You will learn from senior colleagues, experience planned succession so there is no ceiling for your development, and gradually gain more responsibility and authority with corresponding pay rises.
Your day‑to‑day focus will be on marine cargo and stock‑throughput business, with optional collaboration across the ocean and inland marine teams within the insurer.
An expectation is to meet annual company goals for profitability, renewal retention, revenue growth, new business production, and customer service standards, while evaluating risk acceptability within established guidelines and setting appropriate rates and factor levels.
On top of a base salary up to $150 k, you will receive a generous 401 k, dental and health cover, and a 15 % target bonus. Performance can earn more; the company has paid out a high level of bonus every year for the past 18 years.
You will operate well in a hybrid set‑up: three days at home and two days in the office.
