Compensation Analyst - Executive Compensation
Republic Services is seeking a Compensation Analyst to support the planning, design and development of employee compensation and total rewards programs across the company. The role involves researching job requirements, evaluating jobs, developing models, and providing initial recommendations for compensation offerings.
Position Summary The Compensation Analyst is responsible for providing analysis in support of the planning, design and development of employee compensation and total rewards programs across Republic Services. The incumbent will research job requirements and evaluate jobs to ensure the company is competitive in all areas of compensation. The Compensation Analyst will develop models and provide initial recommendations for the organization's compensation offerings.
Principal Responsibilities
Conduct market analysis to research employee compensation in similar industries, using data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. Recommend changes or updates to the company's existing compensation programs or policies and prepare presentations of findings.
Prepare and maintain job descriptions, ensuring they accurately reflect job work, minimum requirements and KSAs needed for success. Conduct job evaluations to place jobs appropriately and complete FLSA tests for all positions.
Benchmark jobs against survey data and market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges. Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary ranges.
Participate in enterprise compensation projects and cyclical processes, including the Annual Compensation Planning program and the annual market/equity analysis initiative.
Conduct data and cost analyses to inform compensation programs and collective bargaining negotiations, performing audits to ensure data integrity across all compensation systems.
Provide advice and guidance on state and federal compensation regulations/guidelines, supplying information for collective bargaining negotiations.
Respond to compensation requests from Human Resource Partners via ServiceNow, meeting prescribed Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines.
Maintain and create job codes in the HRIS system, ensuring integration of job profile data with survey data management.
Participate in external compensation surveys to help build and maintain a robust survey library.
Ensure wage and salary recommendations are internally equitable, externally competitive, and legally compliant.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Understanding of compensation principles and relevant laws.
Knowledge of job analysis and job description fundamentals.
Results‑oriented with the ability to anticipate issues and resolve problems quickly.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, persuasion, and formal presentation skills.
Minimum Requirements
2‑4 years of compensation experience, including completing job analyses, developing salary structures, and providing guidance on compensation items.
