Our global industrial equipment client is looking to add a trade compliance paralegal to join their dynamic legal team. This paralegal will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s adherence to complex export controls and sanctions laws. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will understand export control regimes, including EAR‑ITAR classifications, ECCN, HTS, and COO determinations. Excellent analytical skills are essential to interpret complex specifications, contracts, and regulatory requirements. You should be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for effective collaboration across teams and with external partners. Additionally, demonstrated experience in risk mitigation, compliance oversight, proficiency with global trade compliance tools, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially are highly valued.
Knowledge of international trade laws, specific to US export controls and sanctions, as well as familiarity with compliance processes related to sales representatives and distributor agreements, are also beneficial.
Qualifications
Experience in contract review, trade compliance, or risk management within a corporate environment
Prior experience with export licensing applications
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and with a team
