Overview The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with senior technical staff and project management teams to deliver high-quality mechanical designs from concept through construction. This role offers a strong balance of technical ownership, collaboration, and autonomy, with exposure to complex projects and modern engineering workflows. The position operates with limited supervision, supporting projects of increasing scope and complexity while contributing to continuous improvement across design and delivery processes.

Responsibilities

Perform intermediate to advanced mechanical engineering design and analysis

Develop construction documents and technical specifications

Prepare HVAC system designs, load calculations, and system layouts

Produce drawings and visual aids using Revit

Develop and review HVAC controls sequences of operation

Pre-Construction

Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports

Collect and analyse data to support design development

Support preparation of design and construction documentation

Construction Administration

Coordinate closely with project managers and engineering teams

Interface directly with clients on technical matters

Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and punch lists

Support project close-out documentation

Reporting & Delivery

Prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders

Maintain RFI and submittal logs

Track personal hours and deliverables using internal systems

Technology & Innovation

Leverage digital and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and quality

Support adoption of new technologies and workflows

Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset

Required Experience & Skills

Strong knowledge of mechanical and HVAC system design

Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and specifications

Experience with DDC controls, monitoring systems, and HVAC-related electrical systems

Proficiency in Revit and load calculation software

Ability to select HVAC equipment, develop hydronic flow diagrams, and specify piping accessories

Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical)

Comfortable working

Ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and moderate project pressure

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum

5+ years

of relevant mechanical engineering experience

Travel

Up to 10% travel within the United States
