Lottery Accounting Specialist 2 - Revenue - Lottery Commission - Hancock Co.
Nature of Work
This position will be located at Mountaineer Racetrack under the general supervision of an audit supervisor. The role includes conducting field audits, examining documentation, evaluating internal accounting control systems, performing reconciliations for table games, sports wagering, and interactive wagering, monitoring cash counts, and other related duties.
Responsibilities:
Act as the contact person at the racetrack to coordinate communication with Lottery headquarters.
Answer player questions and complaints, disseminate information about regulatory matters and game rules.
Attend meetings and training sessions as requested.
Perform all duties using Microsoft Excel and Word, and may be required to work various schedules.
Applicants will be subject to an extensive background investigation. No person with a conviction for a lottery law violation or any felony shall be appointed or employed.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 semester hours in accounting.
Experience: Three years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time paid professional experience in accounting or auditing.
Substitution: (1) Certification or registration as a public accountant in West Virginia may substitute for the required training and two years of the required experience. (2) Graduate study from an accredited four‑year college or university may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Complete work history must be provided and be as detailed as possible.
