Structural Steel Special Inspector – Nashville, TN TLL is searching for a Structural Steel Special Inspector to join our Nashville team. This role will be responsible for performing visual inspections and nondestructive testing on construction projects throughout Tennessee.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs Special Inspections of Structural

Performs visual inspections (VT) of Structural welds to ensure they conform to applicable standards. American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector would be a plus but not required.

Perform Nondestructive Testing in following methods: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant testing (PT).

Inspect structural steel/bolting to applicable codes.

Basic computer skills and related technology.

Follow proper procedures, perform accurate computations, and maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.

Prepare daily reports and information for clients. Operates with moderate supervision.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Proficient in reading drawings, plans, and/or blueprints

Nondestructive Testing Certification ASNT Level I or II Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector Certification preferred

ICC Structural Steel Welding and Bolting Certification.

Ability to communicate professionally, orally and in writing

Basic computer skills and related technology

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record. Drug‑free workplace.

Perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs

Ability to operate aerial lifts and work at heights

Possess sufficient stamina to work in an outdoor (hot & cold) environment
