Job Description Account Managers perform routine responsibilities and act as the primary point of contact for clients they oversee. They are individual contributors with occasional guidance or direct supervision, applying principles of insurance to everyday situations and developing coverage strategies and plans.
Responsibilities
Perform daily service on assigned tasks by Producers and/or Account Executives according to agency procedures, including:
Service accounts: quote and issue policies, issue ID cards, propose endorsements, issue certificates, process claims, renewals, follow‑up, and correspondence.
Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company request needs in a timely manner.
Insurance marketing and sales.
Collect renewal data on assigned accounts.
Claims support.
Develop coverage strategies and plans as necessary.
Review new/renewal policies and endorsements to ensure items were received as ordered.
Maintain accuracy of client data in the agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC).
Document all activities in the agency management system.
Utilize upload, download and interface technology.
Assist other departments in securing and providing information needed to issue appropriate policies for mutual clients.
Keep Producers informed of all important activities on their accounts, identifying potential problems and notifying management.
Stay current with industry trends by attending educational seminars and classes to improve insurance/sales skills and license compliance.
Maintain knowledge of underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers.
Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes.
Complete other functions and assignments as assigned, including backup duties.

Requirements
Active Property & Casualty license required; construction experience is a plus.
Strong organizational skills—ability to discern priority and initiative.
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Mathematical skills: ability to calculate discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Reasoning skills: ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and handle variables in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Experience with Applied Systems / EPIC is a plus.
Knowledge of insurance principles applied to everyday situations.
Education / Experience
High School diploma required; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines.
CPCU or special training course completion is a plus.
Pay Details The base compensation range for this position is $65,000 – $100,000. Placement within the range will be based on skills, experience, qualifications, location and internal equity.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership and cross‑functional partnership.
