Position Overview As a Class 4 Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of materials to our customers throughout the region. You’ll represent PACE Supply on the road and at delivery sites, making professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety essential in this role.
Responsibilities
Strategically plan delivery routes, taking into account traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
Assist with loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules, adjust for changes, and provide updates as needed.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to hours‑of‑service regulations, taking required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards and avoid fatigue‑related risks.
Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.
Qualifications
Valid Class 4 Hawaii Driver’s License and at least 21 years of age.
Driving record with no more than 3 points and the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience operating commercial vehicles and/or relevant training; prior delivery experience in wholesale or warehouse environments is strongly preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Solid knowledge of commercial driving laws and regulations, including safety procedures and accident protocols.
Physically capable of lifting and maneuvering up to 50 lbs. and standing or walking for long periods.
Ability to work a Monday‑Friday schedule with flexibility for overtime as needed.
Basic proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
