Qualifications for a Plumbing/HVAC Estimator
Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience as an HVAC and plumbing estimator, preferably within the new home construction industry.
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and motivate with strong time‑management, analytical, and follow‑through skills.
Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, installation processes, and industry standards.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare precise, accurate estimates.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Buildertrend, ProEst, Quickpen, Manual J, or similar software).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, etc.) and/or other relevant software programs.
Work Schedule This full‑time construction estimating position typically works 8.5‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday, but hours may vary based on business needs.
