Position Overview As a
CAD Technician I , you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining computer-aided drafting designs to support rural fiber projects. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of project drawings and documentation in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare and revise engineering drawings, staking sheets, cable schematics, and detail maps using company or client standards, as instructed by the assigned CAD project manager/mentor
Interpret and translate field-marked maps into digital CAD drawings
Perform minor corrections to existing project files with minimal oversight
Self-check all work performed
Clean and prepare land base maps for engineering use
Support project documentation needs, including printing, copying, and preparing shipments
Qualifications Required:
Proficient computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work at a computer station for extended periods with fine hand manipulation
Willingness to learn telecommunications system basics
Preferred:
1+ years of experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software (ProgeCAD, DraftSight)
High school diploma or GED
Basic AutoCAD skills (drawing shapes, manipulating lines, layers, blocks)
Experience with GIS products such as ArcGIS or QGIS
Knowledge of telephony/FTTP projects is a plus
