Position Title:
Mill Entry Level
Starting Hourly Rate: $23.74
Quarterly Incentives: 4% Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) payout; Up to 8% of Gainsharing bonus.
Shift/Category Employees work a DuPont shift schedule, which requires 12-hour shifts (5:30 AM-5:30 PM and 5:30 PM-5:30 AM) with rotating days and nights. This schedule also requires availability to work weekends, holidays, etc.
About The Role This position supports International Paper’s Henderson Mill facility. The Mill Entry Level must have a desire and ability to work as a multi-skilled technician in a paper mill. After an initial onboarding period, the Mill Entry Level new hire immediately begins a state-of-the-art training and certification program to allow potential advancement to higher position and increased wages.
The ideal candidate will have on-the-job success in safety, attendance, and quality of work; excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills; a minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, previous mobile equipment experience is preferred, working knowledge of standard administrative duties (typing, Word, Excel, etc.).
The Job You Will Perform
You will start in an entry-level position, perform general physical activities and operate powered industrial trucks (PIT).
On the job training may involve physical, technical, and mechanical ability in order to perform the following duties:
Climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
Monitoring, adjusting, and controlling operating equipment
Conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Physical, Dexterity, and Strength Requirements
Able to lift/handle 50 pounds occasionally
Able to lift 2 – 20 pounds regularly
Able to climb steps and ladders
Able to enter small vessels
Able to work from heights
Able to turn large valves
Able to stand or walk for 2 – 3 hours at a time for 10 – 12 hours
Able to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold)
Able to work in a noisy environment while wearing hearing protection
Minimum Job Requirements
At least 18 years of age
Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
Eligible for employment in the US
Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
Operate or work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and protection)
Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment
Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
Work overtime on a regular basis and with last-minute notification
Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
Wear required safety equipment
