Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a full-time Community Outreach Specialist who will play a vital role in promoting awareness of our services and making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. This position is responsible for representing Mozaic at events such as school open houses, agency fairs, and other community functions, while delivering engaging presentations to educate the public about our wide range of services.
The Community Outreach Specialist also serves as a liaison for students transitioning into adult services across all geographic areas and supports the intake process by assisting with referrals, intake meetings, and collecting necessary documentation to connect individuals with appropriate services.
This role also provides advocacy and support for individuals in the guardianship program—attending Life Plan meetings, completing annual status reports, and helping coordinate meaningful celebrations for birthdays and holidays. The specialist oversees all aspects of the Self-Advocacy program, including planning and facilitating meetings, events, and trainings across multiple counties.
Strong communication with individuals, families, service providers, and partner organizations like ArcNY is essential. The role also involves participation in agency committees, initiatives, and trainings, along with maintaining accurate electronic records for all assigned program areas.

Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience in the I/DD field required. An Associate's Degree is preferred.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM, 37.5 Hours per Week
Pay Rate:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
