Pontoon Saloon & Nashville Water Taxi
is seeking a dynamic, high-energy sales leader to join Nashville’s premier passenger vessel operations. If you have a passion for hospitality and a "hunter" mentality for securing new business, we want to talk to you!
As our Business Development & Sales Manager, you will be the face of our brand, managing the entire customer journey from the first "hello" to the final booking. You will oversee event sales and coordination for everything from public cruises to private corporate buyouts and our signature Game Day Water Taxi service. Creativity of revenue-generating cruise ideas and execution to drive new revenue streams for the business.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth: Proactively identify and nurture strategic relationships with local businesses, hotel concierges, and event planners to increase brand presence and drive bookings.
Guest Experience Leadership: Deliver world-class service through detailed communication and personalized booking support for both phone and email inquiries.
Event Coordination: Seamlessly manage post-sale logistics to ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience on the water.
Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the Pontoon Saloon with professional warmth, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and well-informed.
Team Collaboration: Report directly to the Owner and work closely with the operations team to support day-to-day success.
People Leader: The manager will be responsible for several direct reports, both full-time and part-time, to assist with customer inquiries, sales, and marketing objectives.
Training: Responsible for training of full-time or part-time staff, setting expectations and goals, ensuring understanding of business and its KPI's/goals.
Who You Are
A Self-Starter: You don’t wait for leads to come to you; you have the grit and time-management skills to build a pipeline.
Experience: You have proven sales or event management experience within the hospitality, tourism, or B2C sectors. Can manage a CRM pipeline with over 1000 leads per year.
Communicator: You possess a clear, professional, and persuasive communication style that closes deals.
Tech-Savvy: You are proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), CRM hygiene and embrace technology & automations to drive business.
Local Resident: You must be based in Nashville or the surrounding area and have a dedicated home office setup.
Compensation & Perks
Base Salary: Starting at $60,000, depending on experience.
Incentives: Earn monthly and annual bonuses based on performance KPIs, ranging from $10K-$30K.
Benefits: 401k matching, healthcare, HSA, paid time off, and a company-provided computer.
Flexibility: A 50/50 remote and onsite work model with a flexible schedule during the winter off-season.
Important Schedule Considerations We are a seasonal hospitality business. Our "busy season" runs from
March to October , requiring availability 7 days a week as business demand needs and during major holidays like Memorial Day and the 4th of July. Remote position located in Nashville.
About Pontoon Saloon The Pontoon Saloon® offers Nashville’s #1 river cruise experience — a floating party boat on the Cumberland River perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, and private events. It’s the best honky tonk booze cruise on the water! We launched our first tours in the spring of 2017, welcoming thousands of people for the first time to the Cumberland River from the Nashville Riverfront. We expanded in 2021 with the addition of our purpose-built marina just 2 miles from Riverfront giving us easy access to millions of visitors to Nashville and also our own marina to operate tours year-round. We also expanded with a second vessel, the Pontoon Saloon II, with added capabilities geared toward amazing corporate events. In 2024, we launched our Family Friendly brand - Nashville Water Taxi. Offering daily history tours and services to and from all Gamedays & Concerts at Nissan Stadium. Our staff enjoys good times, teamwork, and making sure our customers have a unique experience in Nashville.
