Job Overview:
The Part-Time Associate reports to the Store Manager and performs management-assigned duties, including receiving inventory, stocking and maintaining a store section, operating a cash register, carry-out services, and store cleaning.
Responsibilities
Maintain a store section as assigned; order, receive, and stock merchandise, ensuring proper pricing, checking product date codes, stocking shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases; prepare perishable products for sale; set up advertising/promotional displays; review invoices/bills for accuracy.
Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot as directed by store management.
Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, make change or process check/charge/debit transactions, process cash and/or credit refunds when approved by management, and verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers by providing current store and product information. When requested, load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles.
Perform basic bookkeeping duties. Record lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
Qualifications
Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups to customers, clients, and other employees.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs; frequently up to 45 lbs; occasionally up to 60 lbs.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Basic PC/Outlook skills.
