Job Details General Notes The University of Texas at Austin Police Department (UTPD) is an accredited state police agency, serving the UT community 24 hours a day. This position is open to current University of Texas at Austin Police Department commission officers and external candidates that possess a peace officer's license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

Upon hiring, applicants must complete the UTPD lateral Field Training Program.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose To be a commissioned peace officer in the State of Texas, successfully pass the lateral Field Training Program, and conduct the duties and responsibilities as a police officer of the University of Texas at Austin.

Responsibilities

Proactively patrol or work a fixed post while protecting the property of The University of Texas at Austin to prevent crime, maintain the peace, suppress disturbances, and investigate criminal and unusual activities that may occur.
