Hiring range: $67,104/yr. to $75,000/yr.
The City of Basehor, Kansas is currently recruiting Certified Law Enforcement Officers to serve as a Criminal Investigator in the Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
Basehor is a growing city in the southeast corner of Leavenworth County and is uniquely positioned with great accessibility to the Greater Kansas City Metro Area. The City of Basehor is positioned for fast growth from numerous proposed development projects.
The department has an authorized strength of 16 full-time officers and is seeking an experienced police officer who possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to conduct complex investigations of felony and serious misdemeanor crimes to serve in our Detective Bureau.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, have 5 years full-time law enforcement experience, and possess advanced working knowledge of investigative practices and techniques including interviewing and interrogation practices; the identification, collection and processing of evidence; and the laws and practices governing custody, searches and seizures of persons and property.
Responsibilities
Conduct complex investigations of felony and serious misdemeanor crimes in the Detective Bureau.
Perform investigative interviewing and interrogation, evidence collection and processing, and apply laws governing custody, searches and seizures.
Qualifications
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree.
5 years full-time law enforcement experience.
Advanced working knowledge of investigative practices and techniques, including interviewing and interrogation, identification, collection and processing of evidence, and the laws and practices governing custody, searches and seizures of persons and property.
