The Concrete Finisher Helper IV is responsible for levelling the top surface of freshly poured concrete, grout, and similar products on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, or sidewalks. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist in levelling the top surface of freshly poured concrete, grout, and similar products on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, or sidewalks. Read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measure, speed square, framing square, etc. to perform tasks accurately. Fully understand Plant North and drawing coordinates. Assist in placement, vibrating, finishing, etc. of concrete poured in all applications (walls, slabs, footings, piers, etc.). Assist rodbusters and carpenter workers. Use various hand and power tools. Operate a power vibrator to consolidate concrete. Have exposure to and understanding of finishing techniques to achieve a specified finish. Assist in patching and sacking activities after form removal. Assist in positioning molds and forms. Assist in mixing and pouring concrete. Direct equipment drivers/trucks. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision; take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman. Have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction. Support the project with other tasks as directed by supervisor. Work under production schedule pressure and attain set standards of accuracy. Ability to work different shifts and overtime as required. Communicate with Foreman regarding any problems, materials required, or hazards noted. Perform duties in a safe manner. Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1-4 years’ experience as a concrete finisher or a similar industrial construction role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations. Participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors. Set a personal example of safe behavior. Follow all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal guidelines regarding health and safety. Maintain good housekeeping by cleaning up the work area and jobsite after tasks. Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands

Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. May need to maintain physical strength and stamina; push, pull, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb as required. Stamina to perform tasks repetitively for several hours; exposure to varying weather and site conditions. Ability to wear personal protective equipment and to work at heights with fall-protection requirements. Visual and auditory acuity; coordination of eyes, hands, and feet. Hours

This is a full-time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to project requirements. Travel

Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the project site with intermittent travel to residence of record. What’s In It For You
