Job Summary / Purpose Responsible for using specialized equipment to locate Entergy's underground electric facilities in compliance with the LA DIGN Law and doing so in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Be a safety champion; obey all safe work procedures, perform daily Hazard Assessments, maintain vehicle inspections, attend all required safety meetings, complete all safety mandated training and report any safety events including near misses.
Develop and maintain proficiency using the locating equipment to locate and properly mark underground facilities in compliance with the LA Dig Law, thus avoiding dig-ins by excavators.
Develop and maintain proficiency using Dig Tix (TMS) to document all locating jobs as well as computer-based applications such as GT Viewer and Epoch Field.
Monitor excavation activity in the area. Develop and maintain good working relationships with excavators to help coordinate work and eliminate possible damage to Entergy's underground facilities.
Identify and report any discrepancies between underground facilities in the field and those in Entergy's electronic mapping systems. Report damages to Entergy's underground facilities immediately.
Respond to emergency call‑outs during duty rotation for the Damage Prevention group. Work in a team environment that involves taking on additional work when other areas are overloaded, sharing best practices, and fostering unity and collaboration.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirements 0‑2 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in underground locating
Experience with Entergy's underground system
Experience in reading electronic underground mapping
