Responsibilities
Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
Order and inventory control, maintain product quality, and supervise the Deli team.
Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Lead the team to deliver the finest product quality, highest service, and great customer experience.
Help hire, teach, train, and develop the Deli team.
Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
Thrive in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age; preferred 2+ years supervisory experience and strong deli or related food service knowledge.
Dependable, flexible, and able to work a dynamic schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude with strong customer interaction and phone skills.
Proven leadership ability, knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Food Safety certification and knowledge of federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, sanitation, refrigeration, etc.
Excellent organization and planning; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Physical ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. horizontally or vertically, up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance, for up to 4 hours.
Able to stand continuously for up to 4 hours and complete an 8‑hour shift.
Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment; maintain equipment in safe working condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay Range The pay range for this position is $19.50 – $29.15 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
