Monday‑Thursday on site, Friday WFH

Job Description The role focuses on the appearance of product, communications, or collateral materials.

Responsibilities

Finalize product details and proactively follow through on execution of color on each product.

Actively seek expert input from color design and category organizations to develop appropriate solutions.

Review all samples to achieve a marketable solution; review with design, marketing, and development; clearly communicate all changes for final confirmation.

Responsible for color in the final product result.

Maintain color calendar, timelines, and deadlines for the category.

Develop line art, color design server, GPIN, PDM, merchandising line, cutting samples and work with material consultants to coordinate materials for products.

Collaborate with design, product marketing and development/material consultants to focus color solutions for market success.

Gather category‑specific information: consumer, channels, market.

Develop appropriate solutions with regard to quality, cost/value, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising and aesthetic finish.

Create and execute innovative, retailable color solutions for category or gender‑specific line.

Collaborate with Color Design Director, Sr. Color Designer or Color Designer II to create seasonal category‑specific direction of color, materials, and graphics that reflect design philosophy, product performance, and appeal to targeted consumers.

Comfortably create a category line each season.

Understand color, design, market and lifestyle trends that influence and impact the category and apply knowledge as appropriate.

Conduct consumer research; know the consumer and their culture.

Understand consumer and brand positioning needs.

Know and study competitor products, consumer retail habits, color and market trends; apply insights from the consumer perspective into color solutions.

Present and communicate category‑specific color direction and color merchandising direction of the seasonal line to appropriate groups as needed.

Develop skill excellence as a color designer.

Advance the value of color to the client by growing the level of functional expertise (materials, special effects, technology, advanced development, presentation, and tools).

Proactively work with management to advance and build color design skills, experiences, and product & process knowledge.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2‑4 years of directly relevant work experience (alternatives: PhD 1 year, Master 0‑3 years, Associate 1‑3 years, High School 3‑5 years).

Must be located in Beaverton, OR.

Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office tools.

Experience with Vizcom AI is a plus.

Experience in color development for apparel; smaller brands not ideal.

Strong ability to work on site Monday‑Thursday and WFH Friday.
