Communications Manager
to join our team. Role Overview: The Volunteer Communications Manager will support the organization’s mission by leading both internal and external communications. This person will ensure that our voice is consistent, engaging, and aligned with our values across newsletters, partner updates, and collaborative projects. Key Responsibilities: Newsletter Management: Draft, edit, and distribute internal and external newsletters, ensuring they are clear, informative, and visually engaging. Partner Communications: Serve as a point of contact for partner organizations, helping to maintain relationships and communicate updates, opportunities, and collaborations. Content Creation: Develop compelling content (short articles, highlights, spotlights) to showcase our work, impact, and community. Internal Updates: Support internal team communications by creating concise updates and resources to keep everyone aligned. Brand Voice: Uphold and refine the organization’s tone and messaging across all communications. Qualifications: Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for clarity and storytelling. Ability to communicate professionally with diverse partners and audiences. Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage deadlines for regular newsletters. Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, hubspot or similar) is a plus but not required. Time Commitment: Approx. 5 hours per week (flexible based on availability and projects) Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit/creative communications. Build a portfolio of writing and communications work. Expand your network by engaging directly with partners and collaborators. Play a key role in amplifying the voice and mission of our collective.
