Katie Couric Media is looking for a

Social Media Producer

to join our small, fast-moving editorial team. This role will report to Katie’s Executive Producer and work closely with Katie and her senior producing team to identify, frame, and share the most important stories of the day across Katie’s social platforms. Candidates who will be considered for this role are deeply curious about what’s happening in the world, from politics and breaking news to culture and global events, and can translate that awareness into smart, timely, and engaging social content. This role requires excellent editorial judgment, sharp writing skills, and the ability to move quickly and accurately in a fast-paced news environment. In practice, that means turning around posts in real time: writing, editing, and packaging content to an exceptionally high standard, often under tight deadlines and with great frequency. In addition to covering breaking news and current events, this role will help promote articles, interviews, and features from our growing suite of KCM newsletters, ensuring that Katie’s audience stays informed and engaged across all channels. As part of the broader KCM team, the Social Media Producer will also collaborate with colleagues across departments on brand-supported initiatives. KCM partners closely with mission-aligned brands to create impactful, story-driven content. While the core of this role centers on news and editorial coverage, the producer will contribute to these brand storytelling efforts as needed to help bring KCM’s voice and values to life. 2 or more years of experience in social media, journalism, or digital content creation (experience in a newsroom or media environment a plus) Deep understanding of current events and a passion for news Strong writing skills with a keen eye for tone and accuracy Strong video editing skills (Premiere, Capcut, Canva): cutting, captioning, and packaging clips for maximum engagement across social channels Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a flexible, always-on mindset Strong command of analytics and audience engagement best practices
