NOTE:
This is a hybrid role (City of Industry) reporting 2 days per week.
Essential Duties Under the general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing inventories, returning defective/overstocked/wrong merchandise, monitoring vendor credit memos, ordering and controlling office supplies, verifying accuracy of receiving quantities and invoice pricing.
Responsibilities & Duties
Review the inventory purchase requests from Branch Inventory Requisition, monitor for reasonableness, approvals, and anomalies.
Enter purchase orders in the PO system (Inventory/Purchase Order Entry) with ETA and confirmation and repeat in Branch Requisition Spreadsheet.
Follow up on purchase orders, coordinate with Customer Service and vendors on status, including EDI Transmission orders.
Monitor Drop Ship Non‑EDI grid for orders and notify Customer Service when ordered.
Ensure daily PO system receiving for branch locations and Drop Ship Non‑EDI.
Order office supplies after approval by Purchasing Lead and control usage.
Match vendor packing slip with original PO, verify quantity and unit price; return pricing inquiries to A/P within two days.
Complete manual POs for items not in USS; compile department/branch information.
Verify pricing accuracy and clean up open orders monthly per Purchasing Lead.
Complete Help Desk tickets for new product additions; familiar with payer and reimbursement.
Assist Customer Service with product choices and availability.
Treat all information with confidentiality and security, strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Cooperate fully in all risk‑management activities and investigations.
Understand and adhere to all SuperCare Health company policies.
Maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Attention to detail.
Accountability, multitasking, prioritizing, process comprehension and execution.
Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit and verify information or data.
Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, or in person.
Proficiency with MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, Google Sheets, Gmail) and strong market research skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Independent and team-oriented work; excellent networking and relationship‑building skills.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
At least 2–3 years of experience with some exposure to healthcare purchasing.
Familiarity with HCPCs and HIPAA.
