About the Role
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will lead the design process from concept through installation while mentoring a team, collaborating with interior architecture, and serving as a key client-facing representative. You will take ownership of design direction, technical execution, and project flow—ensuring that all phases run smoothly, accurately, and creatively.
What You’ll Do
Lead the creation of original design concepts, materials specifications, and FF&E for multi-family and model merchandising projects
Partner with the interior architecture team on space planning and interior architectural concepts
Contribute to concept design across a variety of styles and project types
Mentor, supervise, train, and collaborate closely with Interior Design Assistants and team members
Lead all client meetings and presentations, translating client needs into thoughtful design solutions
Manage the CA process, critique shop drawings, redline, answer/stamp RFIs and submittals
Ensure specifications are entered accurately and on schedule
Coordinate ordering with the Project Manager/Expeditor and maintain project budgets and timelines
Lead job-site walk-throughs, FF&E installations, and punch processes (some travel required)
Work respectfully and professionally with architects, supers, contractors, clients, and vendors
Maintain organized records, invoices, documents, and proprietary information
Communicate effectively across phone, email, and correspondence with clients and vendors
Track time billing for accurate project hour assessments
Participate in team meetings and support broader company objectives
Contribute to a collaborative, trusting, and respectful team environment
Qualifications
8+ years of professional interior design experience
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
Strong experience leading client meetings and presentations
Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and collaborate with design staff
Expertise guiding job-site walk-throughs, installations, and punch lists
Strong time management skills with the ability to keep projects on schedule and within budget
Experience working respectfully and effectively with architects, supers, clients, contractors, and other partners
Ability to manage complex projects from design concept through installation with minimal oversight
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
