Account Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to handle a variety of accounting functions, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s general ledger.
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner and payments are accurately recorded; follow up on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and there are no discrepancies between company records and bank statements.
Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions, adjustments, and corrections in the general ledger.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist with the month‑end and year‑end closing process, including preparing necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy, and reconciling all accounts.
Ensure the accuracy of tax filings and assist in preparing tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.) as required by local, state, and federal authorities.
Provide documentation and assist with internal and external audits; ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records for audit purposes.
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts; provide reports and analysis to management to support financial planning and decision‑making.
Monitor and report on operational expenses and help identify cost‑saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements; recommend improvements for internal controls and accounting processes.
Support treasury functions, including account set‑up, SAP firm banking entry, and daily bank reconciliation/closing.
Train team members on finance system usage.
Assist with any ad hoc accounting tasks, special projects, or financial analyses as needed.
Utilize the Expense Reporting System (ERS).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in manufacturing or automotive environments.
Proficiency in accounting software (SAP) and general business software (Excel).
Knowledge of Federal and State tax laws pertaining to manufacturing is a plus.
Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
