Position: STUDENT ACCOUNT SPECIALIST Location: Norfolk, VA | Department: FINANCE OFFICE | Type: Classified, Full Time Posting details indicate an open until filled recruitment for this role with a salary listed as non-negotiable at $36,750. Responsibilities

Ensure due diligence is followed in processing Title IV and Federal Perkins Loan transactions. Reconcile differences monthly and resolve all discrepancies. Perform all University billings and actively follow up to collect the University\'s receivables. Process refunds and adjustments promptly and accurately. Ensure compliance with University, Federal and State guidelines and regulations. Qualifications

Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Working knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately. Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and related software. Demonstrated ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements. Demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal transactions for conformity with applicable procedures and regulations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people, under pressure, and to meet deadlines. Experience and Education

Some accounts receivable experience including billing and collecting of past due receivables. Some experience with Federal Perkins Loan Program. Some experience auditing records for accuracy and providing excellent customer service in a high-volume environment. High school diploma or the equivalent, supplemented by bookkeeping or accounting training/education. Additional Considerations
