We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook.
Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate’s degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Responsibilities
Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea
Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces
Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene
Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations
Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
Qualifications
Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays and be willing to pitch in working extra hours at the supervisor’s request
We’d prefer it if you have an associate’s degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job
Understanding of how to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift
Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools
Compensation $10.75 - $12.75 hourly
