Processes Invoices. Works with procurement to efficiently bring product.**Core Competencies*** Partnerships* Growth mindset* Results oriented* Customer focused* Professionalism**Reporting Relations:**Accountable and Reports to: Director of Inbound Freight and Inbound Freight Assistant Department ManagerPositions that Report to you: None**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:*** Receives purchase orders from purchasing and utilizes that information to find carriers to pick up freight. Invoices negotiations of freight rates and pickup and delivery times.* Returns phone calls/emails and maintains communication with trucking companies, vendors and Hy-Vee purchasing keeping everyone informed.* Coordinates shipper information with carrier and/or dispatch.* Assists in calling for truck capacity for all areas in which Hy-Vee is picking up freight.* Invoice reconciliation.* Investigate and process detention requests.* Required to rotate the department after-hours phone.* Reports to work when scheduled and on time.**Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:*** Track and update vendor allowances.* Monitors freight exception reports.* Coverage for other desks in the department during holidays and vacations.* Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:*** Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; logical thinking to solve problems; interpret instructions.* Must have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.* Must have the ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; make appointments; and guide people and provide basic direction.**Education and Experience:*** High School or equivalent experience.* One to three years of similar or related work experience.**Supervisory Responsibilities (Direct Reports):**None**Physical Requirements:*** Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary works involves sitting most of the time.* Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to 10 feet or more with or without correction.* Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Fingering, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.**Working Conditions:**The duties of this position are performed in an office setting.
