Food Service Grill Cook ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking for a Food Service Grill Cook.
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be able to pass a background investigation and physical exam
Must be able to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Ability to work independently without supervision
Must be able to walk, stand, reach, raise arms, and squat for extended periods
Must have a South Carolina issued REAL ID or US Passport
Ability to work in both cold and hot environments
Must be able to lift 30 lbs, unassisted
Description
Must be able to work quickly in a professional kitchen to include mixing for food service items
Must be proficient in commercial kitchen equipment accurately checking thermometer readings
Perform food preparation
Collaborate with the Executive/Sous Chef and Cooks to prepare meals
Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
Responsible for food prep areas/kitchen cafeteria cleanup after each shift
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Inspect food preparation, serving areas and ensure safe sanitary food‑handling practices
Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
Clean up station, then label and store leftover food
Read and follow standardized recipes and directions
Rotate food inventory as required by established procedures
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience 1 year or more cooking experience in a professional setting
