Central Pet Distribution is Hiring Drivers! CDL Class A – 4-Day Workweek Could be Yours!
Do you love pets and love driving? Our growing company is seeking experienced route delivery drivers to hand unload deliveries at specialty pet stores, grocery stores, and retail accounts. Our Pet Distribution team works together to supply our customers with the nation’s top brands of pet supplies like Nylabone, Kaytee, and Aqueon. With a set schedule and weekly routes, our drivers enjoy visiting our customers during the week and having weekends off. If you are a customer service focused driver who is dependable, responsible and committed to safety, this may be the job for you!
Location: Based out of our Covington, GA Distribution Center
Route Details: Route deliveries with multiple daily deliveries; Local and over-nights out of state
Shift Details: Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
Safe transport and delivery or pickup of a variety of goods that will typically be off loaded by pallet jack or forklift, on to a dock or lift gated to the ground
Assist in loading and unloading of materials
Review delivery schedule to plan for trips including determining best route to arrive to appointments on a timely basis, while paying attention to hours of service regulations and safe travel
Inspection of vehicle condition to visually assure vehicle is safe and all equipment is working properly, using a vehicle inspection report and documenting its conditions pre- and post-trip
Inspect load to assure it is properly secured and all necessary freight and equipment is safely in place prior to and delivery route
Deliver goods and acquire all proper documentation related to each delivery including signatures and payment if terms indicate and turn documentation in daily at close of trip to clerk
Maintain truck in a clean and orderly fashion
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
Two or more years of verifiable driving experience with current and clean Class A CDL
Experience using electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, 2 wheeled collapsible dolly, and lift gate safely
Ability to work independently in a safe, efficient and accurate manner
Ability to perform basic arithmetic including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
Ability to lift and move cartons up to 60 pounds throughout the course of a normal shift
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Ability to successfully pass road test
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is conducted in company provided trucks and trailers, warehouse facilities and at the customer’s locations
