How this role drives the company forward The Account Executive is a senior individual contributor responsible for driving strategic sales growth across high‑value customer accounts within the designated territory. This role requires scientific expertise, business acumen, and customer insight to develop tailored solutions that address complex needs and support long‑term revenue growth. Operating with autonomy, the executive develops account strategy, influences stakeholders, and serves as a trusted advisor to key decision‑makers. The role also captures market intelligence, mentors team members, and elevates the customer experience.

How you will make an impact You will achieve sales revenue targets for spatial biology products in academic, government, and pharma/biotech accounts. The ideal candidate has experience in single cell/single nuclei RNA sequencing and is familiar with sequencing and imaging‑based spatial transcriptomics technologies, and resides in Texas. The territory covers the Southern US, including pharma/biotech, academic, and government market segments. You will prospect, expand business, and build a market for new technology.

What will you do

Drive long‑term revenue growth by leading strategic engagement across high‑value accounts, developing partnerships, and identifying expansion opportunities.

Maintain expert knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and the life science marketplace, translating technical details into clear value propositions.

Apply consultative selling techniques to tailor solutions, address complex challenges, and influence purchasing decisions at multiple levels.

Develop and execute sophisticated account strategies and tactical sales plans using data analytics and market intelligence.

Champion CRM best practices for account alignment, pipeline visibility, and cross‑functional collaboration, providing guidance to peers.

Serve as a customer advocate, collaborating with Product Management and Marketing to deliver insights into product performance and market trends.

Demonstrate high responsiveness and professionalism, building trusted relationships and exceeding expectations.

Lead by example in addressing competitive challenges and complex customer objections, sharing innovative strategies with the commercial team.

Mentor Account Managers, sharing expertise in strategic execution and customer engagement.

Influence and support commercial team development, though the position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

How will you get here

BS, MS, or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related life science field.

4–8 years of successful sales or account management in life science tools or biotech, with a proven track record in complex strategic customer environments.

3–5 years of hands‑on laboratory experience strongly preferred.

Experience engaging with cross‑functional stakeholders, including scientists, procurement, and executive‑level customers.

Advanced understanding of life science research workflows and ability to communicate scientific value propositions.

Demonstrated success in managing large or complex accounts and expanding product adoption.

Skilled in strategic planning, consultative selling, and competitive positioning in high‑stakes opportunities.

Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com) with the ability to manage account plans and forecast sales.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Self‑motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating across the sales organization.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position, expected to be located in or near Houston, TX, is $130,000 – $150,000 USD. This range may be modified at any time at our sole discretion.
