Job Description
LBE, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a motivated full‑time Structural Engineer to join our Moncks Corner, SC office. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing a variety of structural systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and meeting client expectations.
Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of structural design experience and at least a bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering. General knowledge of building materials and construction processes is required. Military facility design experience is a plus.
Our projects include both new construction and renovation efforts across the federal, commercial, and industrial sectors—domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities Include:
Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, retaining walls, and other structures using applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, etc.)
Complete structural design and documentation from the conceptual phase through construction drawings
Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify construction compliance (occasional travel
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters
Review and seal engineering documents in compliance with jurisdictional requirements
Evaluate existing structures for modifications, retrofits, and repairs
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal engineering regulations
Apply sound knowledge of structural design principles, codes, and procedures
Establish and implement standards, processes, and workflows
Provide leadership and instruction to less experienced team members
Perform construction administration, including RFI responses and submittal reviews
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
Current and active South Carolina PE license (Structural discipline)
Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design and engineering
Proficiency in structural analysis software
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools
Solid understanding of construction methods and building codes
Strong prioritization, organization, and multitasking skills
Attention to detail and effective problem‑solving abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Eligibility for a U.S. Security Clearance is required
Desired Experience
Ability to obtain licensure in additional states
Experience with federal projects and knowledge of UFC and UFGS standards
Familiarity with SpecsIntact formatting/software
Understanding of standard AEC industry practices
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu
Experience with seismic and wind load design, particularly in coastal areas
LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices
Project management experience is a plus
