Retail Banking Officer Job Description Serves as a key leadership position at the bank, managing the bank’s retail function including all deposits and cash management activities. Under the direction of the CEO, oversees, manages and markets the Bank’s consumer products and services, including retail sales, retail training, deposit accounts, retail branch banking functions, treasury management sales and product delivery channels including branches and home banking products. Leads the bank in depository product development and successfully implementing new products and sales of retail business lines. As a member of the Executive team, is a key leader in driving bank-wide deposit growth at the branch level. Also serves on the ALCO committee.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Leads all aspects of retail sales and service within the bank
Accountable for the attainment of bank service standards
Responsible for meeting growth and deposit related financial goals
Assist sales in reviewing or performing market analysis to determine market and customer needs and opportunities
Develop, implement and model a sales and service culture for retail sales
Perform regular training for staff in sales, service and product knowledge
Establish, motivate and monitor sales goals and performance
Establishes a profiling or needs based approach to selling additional bank products and services for the retail team
Expands our onboarding process to communicate and expand the customer relationship
Assesses and makes recommendations regarding delivery channels and potential upgrades to delivery channels with advanced technology
Oversees the coordination and activity of branch managers and branch leads as well as leadership of weekly guidance meetings
Service
Creates a positive working environment that facilitates exceptional service, expanding profitable customer relationships and employee engagement
Present information and responds to questions from managers, customers and the public
Support a customer experience that provides a level of care that makes customers feel welcomed, significant and engaged
Communicate and follow up to ensure staff are fully informed of all new information related to products, procedures, customer needs and company related issues, changes or actions
Works closely with and coordinates with Marketing Director and Operations Manager
Provide recognition for retail team members as appropriate
Promote new customer relationships and enhancing current customer relationships through referrals
Collaborates with other internal business partners to provide comprehensive solutions to customer’s financial needs
Participates in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business and referral sources
Adheres to all department and company policies and procedures and follows applicable banking regulations. Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or required.
Education & Experience Previous banking experience is required. A minimum of 5 years experience in retail and a management level position. Achievement of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
