Sr. Bridge Engineer
Location: Bedford, NH or South Burlington, VT.
DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a senior bridge engineer with 8+ years of experience in municipal and state highway bridge projects. The role includes technical task management, leading bridge design tasks, staff development, and business development support. This position plays a key role in the growth of our employee‑owned firm, known throughout New England and beyond.
Responsibilities
Apply structural design codes including AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO LRFR.
Use structural design software such as MIDAS.
Provide services to NHDOT and/or VTrans.
Mentor and develop staff.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Work within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented workplace.
Complete and check complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for concrete and precast decks, steel and concrete superstructures, abutments, wingwalls, culverts, and retaining walls.
Manage technical tasks and relevant staff.
Provide operational and project management support to the bridge lead.
Develop a variety of bridge projects of various sizes and designs.
Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design documents.
Oversee work quality control, client coordination, and all daily technical aspects of assigned projects.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in bridge engineering.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
PE license preferred.
Demonstrated technical experience.
MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
Working knowledge of AASHTO design guidelines.
Compensation The salary range is $125,000 – $175,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus. Compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
