Job posted by FAR INSPECTIONS. Independent contractors will perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in the Reno, NV area. No prior mortgage inspection experience is required, but the ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and drive for extended periods is essential.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
Submit the inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report property conditions and determine occupancy status using the company mobile app.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Fill out a short electronic form in the app.
Travel within your assigned county, possibly sharing a county with another inspector if volume allows.
Requirements
Computer with reliable internet access.
Own vehicle with good gas mileage (you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone) plus printer.
Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
Pay & Hours This is a 1099 contractor position. Each inspection has a flat rate; rates vary by county and volume. Contractors can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county (urban or rural), you may complete 20‑500 inspections per month working 2‑30 hours per week. There is no set minimum; volume and rates adjust accordingly.
No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
