FAR INSPECTIONS, St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, 33739

Save Job

FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and the purpose of the property inspection is:

To verify property occupancy.

To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.

Responsibilities

Complete focused inspections: typical 5–6 minutes per job.

Submit inspection within 4 days of assignment.

Determine occupancy status and report general property conditions.

Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.

Complete the short form in an app.

Be able to spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Requirements

Computer with internet connection.

Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage (you pay your own gas).

Smartphone (Android or iPhone).

Printer.

Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of

$30–$40 per hour.

Depending on the county (urban or rural) you will complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
