Centrally located between Manhattan and Topeka, Custom Wood Products is a family-owned manufacturer of quality residential cabinetry. Join Custom Wood Products as Craftsman/Custom Cabinet Maker/Cabinet Finisher. In this role you will assist in the creation and production of custom wood cabinets following the shop drawings in various stages of the project. There is never a dull moment, as each cabinet is custom. Attention to detail, cabinet construction knowledge, professionalism and quick thinking are essential. Essential Functions: Machines parts, sands, glues, and assembles cabinets according to Custom Wood Products' standards and shop drawings for safe and purposeful use. Operates, (according to safety guidelines) woodworking machinery and hand tools to include table saws, drivers, drill presses, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, other wood-fastening equipment and commercial finish equipment. Reads and interprets shop drawings. Prepares and loads cabinets to next phase in production. Operates shop computers and software. Sands, wipes and sprays commercial finish products for high quality finish according to project specifications. Adheres to safety protocols and conducts work in safe manner. All other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience with solid wood and custom cabinetry preferred. Must be able to operate woodworking machinery, equipment and hand tools. Ability to read/interpret shop drawings, and utilize and read tape measure. Ability to lift large cabinets with assistance. Must have keen eye for detail and producing high quality products (free of defects/errors).
