Position Title: Utility Worker in Training Weekly Hours of Work: 40 Business Unit: Regulated US Water Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona, United States Closing Date: Dec 31, 2025 Highlights of the Job
EPCOR is seeking a dedicated Utility Worker I or In-Training position to join our team in our Lake Havasu City & Parker , Arizona District. In this essential role, you will perform skilled work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems. Responsibilities
Installing, maintaining, and repairing water mains, service lines, meters, fittings, main line valves, and fire hydrants Performing system flushing, water quality sampling, and flow testing Conducting preventative maintenance such as valve exercising and fire hydrant inspections Investigating customer complaints such as high meter readings, noise, leaks, water quality, odors, and low/high water pressure Identifying customers’ concerns and taking appropriate actions to resolve them Assisting customers in locating water leaks Inspecting water meter connections for leaks and making appropriate repairs Following traffic control protocols and maintaining safety on job sites Accurately completing service orders and maintaining records Performing other related duties as required to support daily operations Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required Understanding of water and wastewater systems, including tools and equipment used in the field Ability to read and interpret blueprints, service orders, and maintenance manuals Familiarity with drinking water rules, regulations, and standardized water quality testing Ability to accurately code timecards with up to 50 account codes Capable of making repairs in confined or tight spaces Strong record-keeping and computer entry skills Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently Able to operate motor vehicles and equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, valve exercisers, and mini-vac units Physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds and performing manual labor in varying weather conditions Strong communication skills and professionalism when dealing with customers and coworkers Minimum Requirements for Each Level
Utility Worker-in-Training: HS Diploma or GED. Valid AZ Driver’s license. Utility Worker I: Grade 1 certifications in appropriate area of Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection based on job assignment. HS Diploma or GED. Valid AZ Driver's license, with CDL. Other Important Facts About This Job
