The Tradesmen Group LLC (TTG) is seeking an experienced finish carpenter with at least 3 years of experience to work on long-term, commercial projects in Nashville, TN. Building restoration experience is a plus. TTG is an award-winning full-service building rehabilitation/restoration company. We self-perform multiple trades, including all aspects of historic masonry restoration, roofing, architectural metals, carpentry, painting, and more! Primary duties include and require: Proper setup and protection of work areas Ability to perform meticulous, quality work without oversight and to work independently when required Daily cleanup & tidiness Able to produce carpentry assemblies for historic restoration projects from shop drawings and specifications Essential Skills & Employment Criteria: Ability to work independently when needed without direct supervision and remain on task Trained & experienced in the use of finish carpentry tools and equipment, including various saws, compressors, nail guns, impact guns, drills, routers, planers, and other woodworking equipment Experience and understanding of shop woodworking equipment, including planers, jointers, drill press, routers, table saws, sanders, lathes, and other similar equipment Familiarity with basic/typical species of wood used in common finish carpentry Competent in measuring, cutting & fitting finished millwork and lumber of all types with measurements accurate to within 1/32” to 1/16” of an inch, including miters and angles Competent in using a framing and speed square for finding angles Competent in marking and cutting angles and miters on finish grade lumber Competent in coping inside miters for installation of millwork with a coping saw Capable of installing finish millwork that is plumb, square, level, and true Competent at independently executing layout and installation of all common finish millwork, including door & window casing, base board, crown molding, cornice construction, common straight staircases, and similar interior/exterior finish carpentry items for both stained and painted finishes Ability to read blueprints and determine layouts and dimensions from prints OSHA 10 training is required prior to job start Ability to pass a security clearance We work where we live, and it shows.
