This position is responsible for heavy duty diesel maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on trucks and trailers. A company vehicle will be assigned so a clean MVR with no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years is required. Night shift schedule is 2pm to 10pm with overtime alotted if needed to meet business needs.This position will report to our shop in Bluffdale, UT daily. Identify, and troubleshoot intermediate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in construction equipment. Perform scheduled maintenance tasks including fluid changes, filter replacements, and inspections to ensure equipment remains in good working order. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units. Adhere strictly to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs, & Procedures Manual and MSHA/OSHA standards while wearing proper PPE. Utilize specialized tools and equipment for diagnostics and repairs. Stay updated with the latest technology and repair techniques. Advanced diesel and gas engine repairs. 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair with a mix of hands-on work and troubleshooting in the field. Knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, and diesel truck diagnostic software. Must own hand tools. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex issues with heavy machinery and a variety of equipment. CDL/DOT preferred. Must be able to pass a background check, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing. Must be able to interpret various instructions furnishes in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. High school education or GED equivalent. Summit Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
