Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, installing and repairing rough wooden structures, including: scaffolds, guardrail, concrete forms, sewer supports and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel. The incumbent will need to operate in a safe and efficient manner following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and process requirements. Travel may be required. This role is classified as safety sensitive.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
Keep work area clean, orderly and safe Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or plans to prepare the layout of the project Estimate height, width, length and other proportions Select materials Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and/or erect structures Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure Create structures for pouring concrete Build concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction project Erect scaffolding Build guardrail Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience
High School or Degree or GED required 2-3 years of experience in heavy construction carpentry experience preferred
