Shop Mechanic

For over seven decades, investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and others have entrusted their electrical construction and maintenance needs to Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot). Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating, and industrial/commercial services. We are seeking a mechanic to perform the following: Job Description Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles, including tires and tracks Assemble mechanical components according to the manufacturer's specs Examine machines and perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary. Perform vehicle/equipment assessments and alert appropriate parties on issues that will prohibit their vehicle/equipment from operating correctly or passing an inspection Perform DOT inspections Qualifications Must have a minimum of four years’ experience Must provide own tools Must be willing to work as a team. Experience in electrical, hydraulics, and diesel preferred Must have or be eligible to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months 40+ hrs a week expected Today, we are listed among Engineering News-Records Top 150 Specialty Contracting firms.
