Ideal Candidate

Strong background in machining, with a focus on producing high-quality, precision parts using manual lathes.

Minimum of 3 years of industry experience and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes to produce precision parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

Perform machining tasks such as turning, facing, threading, boring, and knurling to meet tight tolerances.

Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining techniques to achieve desired outcomes.

Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate part production.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify compliance with specifications.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manual lathes to ensure optimal performance.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.

Collaborate with team members, including engineers and quality control, to ensure production goals are met.

Document work processes and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Manual Machinist, with a focus on manual lathes in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in setting up and operating manual lathes to produce precision components.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Expertise in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).

Knowledge of machining techniques, material properties, and tool selection.

High attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Basic understanding of shop math, including geometry and trigonometry, for machining calculations.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other manual machining equipment (e.g., milling machines, grinders) is a plus.

Familiarity with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, and alloys.

Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
