Job Responsibilities Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications. Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair diesel and gas vehicles, as well as hydraulics. Maintain shop equipment such as bending machines, cutters, table saws, air compressors, and sewer systems. Identify and resolve mechanical issues by observing devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Dismantle devices to remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Minimize downtime by training production workers on preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance. Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing information to identify trends. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company procedures, rules, and regulations. Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift, bend, climb, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and legs. Capable of working outside all day in extreme heat or cold. Exposure to fumes, vibrations, and high noise levels. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Comfortable working on equipment up to two stories high, with no fear of heights.
